Government to give milk farmers a guaranteed minimum price.
The Kenya Dairy Board has told farmers during a dairy field day organized at the home of Molo MP Hon Kuria kimani .
The boards officials who trained dairy farmers told the press that the farmers education was being done countrywide to ensure that farmers get more yields.
In turn, the officials
said that the milk price stabilization matter was already on the President’s desk waiting for his accent.
Last months small and medium enterprises CS Simon Chelugui announced that the government had set aside kshs 1.5 billion to cushion farmers from lower milk prices during the rainy season.
Further, the officials said that milk coolers were also on the way and once installed would compliment dairy farmers returns in the long run.
