The high court is set to make a ruling on the contested finance act of 2023 this Friday.
Justice David Majanja - presiding judge alongside his counterparts Justice Christine Meoli and Lawrence Mugambi, all appointed by the CJ Martha Koome will deliver the judgement.
If the ruling is in favor of the
petition, there will be serious ramifications for the government to attain compliance.
On the other hand if the petition is defeated, the finance act 2023 will continue being in place until next year when the government will draft a new finance bill to govern government funding.
Initially, a few sections of the act had been suspended but the attorney general filed an appeal and upon convincing court, the suspension was lifted giving way for implementation of the act in it's entirety.
