The Kenya Kwanza government has set plans in motion to dual the Northern bypass which runs from Ruaka to Ruiru.
Speaking in Kiambaa this week, Kiambaa MP Hon Kawanjiku revealed that the President had managed to secure funds for the project.
The government will also construct an interchange at Ruaka to ease
linking and avoid congestion in the rapidly growing Ruaka town with access roads such as Roselyn to Ndenderu also earmarked to expansion and .
Additionally, the president has directed roads and transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen to set aside Kshs 400 million for an ultra-modern market in Ruaka, and another Kshs 200 million for the construction of the Kiambaa, Ndenderu, Muchatha and Karuri markets at Kshs 50 million each.
Kawanjiku said that public participation for the project was set to take place in the coming weeks to comply with the legal provisions before embarking on the project.
Kawanjiku also defended the President's trips out of the country saying that it was in such trips that the President managed to secure funds and development partnerships to develop the country.
