War on drug and substance abuse in the coast to intensify
Speaking at ACK St Thomas Malindi diocese in Kilifi, leaders and other speakers lamented that they felt abandoned and neglected in the fight against drug and substance abuse.
DP Gachagua who had graced the ceremony concurred with the people and leadership of the coast region that indeed the menace posted an
existential threat to the local communities.
The deputy president went further to promise that the government will soon reign in on the rings that supply these drugs and substances so as to save a generation.
Gachagua added that it was painful to see young people in a region so endowed with natural blue resources waste away due to drug and substance abuse, pledging that the government will not sit back any more.
The deputy president has been vocal and on the frontline in the fight against drug and substance abuse especially in the Mt Kenya region and Rift Valley where the vice seems to have been worst hit.
