Kenyan book ‘Rough Silk’ That was launched in April 2023 at the Pan Afric Hotel in one of the grandest book launches ever to be seen in the country was nominated to feature at the Cheltenham Literature Festival in the UK in October.

Rough Silk is one of the best sellers in the Kenyan market also sold out in its US tour in July and UK tour in October, Thanks to the author who is a ruthless and creative marketer.
In the UK it was welcomed and partly hosted by UK ambassador to Kenya Hon. Manoah Esipisu.
The book was featured in a 30-minute interview at the Cheltenham Literature Festival on the 13th October.
The Author, Deborah Auko Tendo who is an influential Facebooker known for her timeline that focusses on Geopolitics, Career Tuesday, Rumba Friday and Sporting Saturday, was interviewed the CEO of the Literature Festival Ms. Ali Mawle.
Deborah Auko Tendo is not a new name, outside her writing prowess she is Head of Commercial at Fargo, is a renowned Public and Private Security and Logistics professional.
She is a multi-lingual who shocked Kenyans by Peaking both Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya in the same year.
She is also a world traveler who has done more than 100 countries around the world and educates her following on different cultures.
Her book Rough Silk is a biography about her life with her Dad as she was raised by a single Dad.
This book weaves through pre-colonial Kenya all the way to 2016 and has tagged at readers’ hearts as a blunt, raw and shocking story.
Its strength is relatability as it handles topics like Maternal Mortality, broken marriages, domestic violence, the HIV Pandemic of the 90s and has won several accolades as follows;
