President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua are today in Embu County for a working tour of the region, during which the Head of State will unveil several developments among them Kanyuambora Irrigation Project.
During the one-day extensive tour, the Head of State will launch development projects in Mbeere North,
Mbeere South and Runyenjes Constituencies.
The projects touching on Energy, Agriculture, Water and transport infrastructure, are aimed at fostering development and improving livelihoods of the people.
The Presidential working visit will start in Runyenjes, where the President will launch the development works of Iriari Irrigation Project and the Upgrading to Bitumen Standard of Rukuriri-Kathageri-Kanyuambora Road (Phase 1: Rukuriri-Kathageri Section).
Together with his Deputy, the President will proceed to Mbeere North Constituency.
He will officiate the launch of Kanyuambora Irrigation Project and the Upgrading to Bitumen Standard and Performance Based Routine Maintenance of Kanyuambora-Kamumu-Kageri/Muvakari-Kanyuambora/Gachoka-Gachuriri/Kangeta-Kiumbu~ini Roads.
As a boost to rural electrification, the President will also launch a Last Mile Electrification Project at Cianthia village. The program is being implemented by the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC).
The President will later visit Mbeere South Constituency, where he will lay the Foundation Stone for Mbeere South Water Supply Project (Lot 1 - Kamburu Dam Water Supply).
He will also inspect Machang’a County Aggregation and Industrial Park; a project that is aimed to grow manufacturing and investments through Agro-Industries.
At the end of the day the President will inspect Makutano Economic Stimulus Program (ESP) Market.
The ESP Market is meant to spur the Makutano rural economic growth by promoting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.
The projects are in line with the Kenya Kwanza Administration's Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
