Kenya is set to become the first African country to host the annual data festival.
The announcement was made in Uruguay during this year's data festival.
The festival brings together players from various sectors of the economy that heavily rely on data.
Accepting the honor, the Principal Secretary of the state department of
economic planning assured the convenors that Nairobi will be an unforgettable host. Muhati went on to thank President William Ruto for nominating him to represent the country.
In his state of the nation address, the President highlighted that Kenya has in the past year hosted up to 30,000 delegates from foreign countries attending International summits in Kenya.
The festival, Muhati said, cements Kenya's place and indeed Nairobi as Africa's most preferred destination for international events.
