The government on Monday warned individuals sitting on public land to vacate before being evicted. Speaking at the Kilifi land Registry when she made an impromptu tour, Lands CS. Alice said her ministry is working closely with the DCI and EACC and will stop
at nothing to recover grabbed public land.
CS Wahome also committed to streamline the process of compensation for land and property owners affected by the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone, SEZ, in Mombasa following H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto directive.
CS Wahome further added that an operation to do away with impostors who expect to be compensated in the process is underway so that only the correct list of beneficiaries will be compensated.
The CS commended the County Commissioner Mr. Josephat Biwott and Kilifi Governor H.E Gideon Mung'aro emphasizing on the need of more collaboration between the two levels of government in resolving disputes and settlement thereof so that both the National and County Governments can implement their mandate seemlessly and for the benefit of Kenyans.
