DP Rigathi Gachagua: We must fight for our place at the UN security council.
Speaking at the ongoing Committee of Ten, C-10 summit in Cuidad de la Paz, Equitorial Guinea, the deputy president said that Africa must put it's best foot forward in it's quest to have a permanent seat at the UN security council.
DP Gachagua emphasized on the need to deploy all that
is available to see to it that this time round, Africa gets to the decision making table.
He cautioned the delegates present that the demand would not be handed out on a silver plater since it seeks to upset the status quo.
Africa's bid to have a permanent seat at the UN security council recently got a boost after the US expressed their support to the bid.
The deputy president is representing President William Ruto who is in Arusha, Tanzania for the 23rd ordinary summit of the EAC heads of state.
